Charles Tacey

Charles “Chuck” Frederick Tacey, age 67 of West Chester, PA, passed away on June 10, 2020.  Born in Alexandria, VA he was the son of the late Frances and Agnes Tacey (Dwyer).

Chuck was a graduate of Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University where he received his Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.  Chuck also held a Professional Engineering License.  He was employed by the DuPont Company and retired in 2015 after 36 years of service.

Chuck loved his Virginia Tech Hokies and was an active member of the First State Chapter Virginia Tech Alumni Association and was a board member, webmaster and past President.  Some of the Tacey family members graduated from rival UVA so every year around Thanksgiving they enjoyed a little family rivalry at the Virginia Tech / UVA football game.

Chuck also enjoyed fishing, wood working and the beauty of living in the West Chester borough.  But what he enjoyed most was spending time with his children, helping them with their gardens, home improvement projects and cooking his infamous “tuna wiggle” dinner.

Chuck will be dearly missed by his loving children Phil Tacey (Elizabeth), Paige Tacey (Collin) and their mother Linda Tacey.  He is also survived by his brother Robert Tacey (Monica) and his nieces Missy Brooks (Keaton) Carlin Tacey (Jon), Adam Tacey (Hyunmi), and Becky Edgar (Dale).  He was predeceased by his sister Mary Tacey.

Relatives and friends are invited to Visit with the family 10:30-11:30 AM Friday, July 16, 2021 at The Donohue Funeral Home, 1627 West Chester Pike, West Chester, PA followed by his Memorial Service 11:30 AM.
