Charles Will

December 27, 1925 — December 18, 2017

Charles E. "Chuck" Will age 91, of Media, PA and Palm Beach, FL, passed away peacefully on December 18, 2017.

Born in Norristown, PA, he was the son of the late Charles Raymond and Anna DeLong (nee Williver) Will. Chuck was the beloved husband of Kathleen G. Will (nee Galvin), the dear brother of the late Joanne W. Shropshire, and cherished uncle to his niece and nephews.

At the age of 17, Chuck and a friend went to enlist in the U.S. Navy, forging his mother's name on the forms. He served on the USS San Juan during World War II in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater. Chuck's father also served during the war in the Navy as Captain of the USS Flint. As it happened on occasion, Chuck and his father's ships would be in close proximity of each other and Chuck's father would signal the captain of the USS Juan to inquire "How's the kid doing?" After the war, using the GI Bill, Chuck attended and graduated from Rutgers University.

As an avid golfer, Chuck competed in one US Amateur Tournament.

His world was golf-HE LIVED IT, BREATHED IT-DAY IN AND DAY OUT!

In his illustrious career with CBS Golf and Sports, along with his boss, Frank Chirkinian, Chuck was a true golf icon. Always the consummate story teller and witty professional, Chuck will be remembered most for his humble spirit. He continually looked for ways to help others, especially those who worked for him; as he never sought the limelight for himself.
