Charlotte Bowser

Charlotte Krasley Bowser, 82, of Perkiomenville, PA passed away on October 12, 2017.



Born in 1935 in Royersford, PA, she was the daughter of the late Paul S. and Beatrice M. (Klein) Krasley.



She was a graduate of Royersford High School and Grove City College, where she earned her B.S. in Biology. She met and married her husband of 60 years, Nelson Dean Bowser while at Grove City College.



In addition to her husband, she is survived by her sons, Christopher D. Bowser (Kathleen) of Parkesburg, PA, Nelson Paul Bowser (Lisa) of West Chester, PA, Stephen B. Bowser of Prince George, VA and the late Marshall T. Bowser (Penny of Atglen, PA); her grandchildren, Marshall Bowser, II, Tyler Bowser, Danielle Bowser, Nelson A. Bowser, Erin Bowser, Kevin Bowser, Jack Bowser and Bridget Bowser; and six great-grandchildren.



Charlotte loved music, having studied the flute and piano. She enjoyed gardening, especially growing various herbs, working on crossword puzzles and was always working on a quilt in her home.



She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of West Chester, PA, where she was an avid member of member of the Missions Quilting group and the Bell Choir.



Having four sons, she was an active member of the Scouting movement. She began as a Den Leader and moved through all phases of leadership to become a trainer in two Scouting Districts, Lenni Lenape and Horseshoe Trails.



She received the Silver Beaver Award from the Chester County Council of the B.S.A., which is the highest award given.



Friends and relatives are invited to her Viewing 6:00-8:00 PM Tuesday, October 17, 2017 and 10:00-11:00 AM Wednesday at The Donohue Funeral Home, 43 W. Lancaster Ave, Downingtown, PA 19335, 610-269-3080, followed by her Funeral Service 11:00 AM. Interment will be at Bradford Cemetery, West Chester, PA.



In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to the Dementia Society of America, P.O. Box 600, Doylestown, PA 18901 or to the American Cancer Society, 1626 Locust Street, Philadelphia, PA 19103.
