Charlotte R. "Nan" McDonald (nee Dodson), age 87, of Upper Darby, PA, passed away on February 23, 2016. Born in Upper Darby, PA, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Marion Dodson.
She was predeceased by the love of her life, her husband, Edward, with whom she shared 63-1/2 years of marriage. Charlotte and Ed traveled extensively through the United States and to many countries in Europe.
She was previously employed by Bell Telephone Company in Llanerch, PA. She also worked for many years at Charlie's Hamburgers. But her most important job was loving and enjoying her children and grandchildren.
Charlotte was a wonderful cook and shared this by delivering her soups, Apple cakes and Cherry Cheese cakes to many happy recipients.
She is survived by her children Patty (George) Bodine, Theresa (Francis) Devlin, Eddie (Virginia) McDonald, Ginny Davis, Lynn (Kevin) Kramer, Daniel (Heather) McDonald, 20 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers Charles, Albert and John and her sisters Mary and Alice.
Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing Monday, February 29, 2016 9:00-10:20 AM St. Cyril of Alexandria Church, 153 Penn Blvd., East Lansdowne, PA followed by her Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM. Interment SS Peter and Paul Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory to the Bernardine Franciscan Sisters, c/o Development Office, 450 Bernardine Street, Reading, PA 19607 or the American Heart Association, 5455 N. High Street, Columbus, OH 43214 would be appreciated.
