Charme J. Walter

Charme J. Walter, 94, of Delaware County, PA, passed away peacefully on September 8, 2023 with her family by her side. Charme was loved dearly and will be remembered as a devoted wife and mother, a loyal friend, and a beautiful person endowed with a special empathy and concern for others. She was married to her ever-loving husband Robert (Bob) L. Walter for more than 68 years before his passing in August. Charme is survived by her children Ann and David, their spouses Wayne and Barbara, and grandchildren Kathryn and Elaina.

Charme was married in Columbus, Ohio, and she and Bob started their family there.  After moving to Wynnewood, PA, Charme was a stay-a-home mom and active at Bryn Mawr Presbyterian Church, where she and Bob were frequent ushers at worship services. When her children were grown, she was a church receptionist and an active volunteer. Her volunteer duties included Senior Outreach Services and assistant director of the BMPC Tutoring Program.

Charme was well read and kept up with local, national, and global current events. She was an avid sewer and made clothes for herself and her family for years. She and her family traveled extensively in the US and Europe. She loved to organize camping trips, family gatherings, and parties. She organized bridge games, croquet tournaments, and neighborhood block and Christmas parties. To the end, Charme was compassionate and always showed interest and concern for others.

A celebration of life service will be held on Friday, October, 20, at 11:00 AM, for both Charme and Robert at Bryn Mawr Presbyterian Church, 625 Montgomery Avenue, Bryn Mawr, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Southern Poverty Law Center (www.splcenter.org) would be greatly appreciated.
