She was born September 29, 1940 to her parents, Tommie Grant Conley and J.D. Conley in Denison, TX.
Her religious background stemmed from Quinn Chapel AME Church in Denison, TX to Christian Cultural Center in Brooklyn, NY and later, The Potters House Church in Dallas, Tx.
Chester attended Terrell High School in Denison, where she graduated Valedictorian, participated in the Marching Band as a Drummer and was crowned "Miss Terrell."
Married to Wilbert Malvern, Sr., four boys were born in their union; Wilbert Emery Juan of San Antonio, TX. Derek Jerome of Seattle, WA, Steven Tyrone of Witchita, TX and Larry Grant of Los Angeles, CA.
Chester's educational path ultimately lead her to earn her Theology degree from Dallas Baptist University.
