Cornelius Cummings

Cornelius Cummings, age 88, a 54 year resident of Upper Darby, passed away on April 28, 2014 surrounded by his loving family. Born and raised in County Tipperary, Ireland, he was the son of the late John and Ellen Commons (nee Hennessy). Mr. Cummings was employed by AQUA PA, formerly Philadelphia Suburban Water Company for 35 years. He retired in 1993.



Mr. Cummings was a devoted husband, family man, and the ultimate quiet man.



He was the beloved husband of the late Kathleen Cummings (nee Kearney). He is survived by his children Mary Ellen Fair (Bill), Cathy Dougherty (Rich), Fran Beese (Don) and Sean Cummings (Donna). Pop Pop of Greg, Maura, Brendan, Shawna Juisti (Steven), Rick (Ashley), Mike, Allison McElhenney (Mike), Briana, Donnie, Devon, Sean, Ryan, Matthew and Megan. Great-Grand Pop Pop of Ava and Alivia Juisti. Also survived by his sisters Mary Spillane (Tim) and Bridget Houlihan, his sisters-in-law Kay Commons, Eleanor Cummings, Delia Harding and Ann Shanagher, his brother-in-law Cornelius Kearney and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers Patrick, Martin and William.
