Daniel R. D’Egidio, Sr. “Blue”, passed away on December 18, 2019. He is predeceased by his beloved wife, Marion (née Candelore), his parents, Gaetano & Sophie, and his siblings Frederick, Betty (Leon Sr.), Millie (Blaise), Mary (Albert), William (Josephine), Jesse (Jennie), Minnie, Joseph (Jean), and Gloria (Louis).
Dan was a graduate of Overbrook High School in West Philadelphia. He owned and operated a successful trucking company for more than 50 years, and was a Sergeant in the United States Army and a proud Korean War veteran.
He loved spending time with his family, attending Church, reading, watching army and western movies, and listening to Andrea Bocelli. He had a generous heart, was a dog lover, and had many close friends. Even when he developed Dementia/Alzheimer’s Disease, he still maintained his sense of humor and his sweet, appreciative demeanor.
He is survived by his loving children, Susan M. Griffith (Paul), Daniel R. D’Egidio, Jr. (Cheree), Lisa D. Bellew (Kevin), cherished grandchildren, Steven Knowles, Lauren Hall , Daniel J., Julia and Brianna D’Egidio, and Madison Bellew, great-grandchildren, and brother Domenic (the late Bea).
Family and friends are invited to his 9:00 AM – 10:15 AM Visitation on December 28, 2019 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church 2130 Franklin Ave. Morton, Pa 19070 followed by his 10:30 AM Funeral Mass. Inter: SS Peter & Paul Cemetery
In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations be made in Daniel’s name to Alzheimer’s Association 399 Market St. Suite 102 Philadelphia, Pa 19106.
