Daniel Carter

Daniel J. Carter, age 84, of Downingtown, PA, formerly of Upper Darby, PA, passed away on November 14, 2019.

Born in Philadelphia, PA in 1934, he was the son of the late Edward and Thelma (nee Suber) Carter. Daniel was a graduate of Glen-Nor High School (1953) and Villanova University. He served honorably in the US Army and then worked for the Post Office in Philadelphia. Daniel was fond of the horses he owned in his younger years. He was a devout Catholic and was very involved with prison ministry. In his later years, Daniel enjoyed his second career with Vanguard.

He was the beloved husband of Mimi (nee Crosson) Carter; loving father of Daniel J. Carter, Jr., Matthew J. Carter (Vicky), Andrew J. Carter, Timothy J. Carter (Joan), and Sue DiLuigi (Richard); caring grandfather of Sean, Jake, Kate, Elizabeth, Grace, Patrick, Madelyn, Timothy, Daniel, and Benjamin; dear brother of Valerie Schaffer (Jack).

Relatives and friends are invited to his Visitation 9:30-10:45 AM Saturday, November 23, 2019 at SS Philip & James Church, 107 N. Ship Road, Exton, PA 19341, followed by his Funeral Mass 11 AM. Interment SS Peter & Paul Cemetery.
