Daniel MacLean Kramer, Jr., 87, of West Chester, PA passed away on December 30, 2016.
Born in Camden, NJ in 1929, he was the son of the late Merle Marjorie (nee Howard) of Fairfax, Vermont, and Daniel MacLean Kramer, Sr.
As a teen, Dan worked on South Jersey truck farms for the War effort where he picked strawberries and cut asparagus. Just about anyone who knew him heard his farm stories. He was an early graduate of Woodbury, NJ High School (1946), and an Air ROTC student at Rutgers University, were he ran Cross-Country & track for the Scarlet Knights, was a member of Sword & Scabbard, the Chi Psi fraternity, and received a BS in Biology. Later he earned an MBA from Temple University. After postings in Sault Ste. Marie & Morocco, and active reserves out of McGuire AFB, he retired as a Major in the U.S. Airforce.
He is the widower of the late Jane P. McGonnigle. Following that, he met Shirley Parrish, widow of the late Paul Parrish, through TLA, the Widow/Widower support group she created. From this they pulled their Kramer & Parrish families together with their second marriage in 1974.
Daniel was the beloved husband of Shirley A. (nee Goodall) Kramer; loving father of Beth A. Malikowski (Michael), Paul D. Kramer (Terrie), Kathleen L. Ericson (Stan), Bruce R. Kramer (LeAnne), Michael V. Parrish, Guy W. Kramer (Joann), Susan G. Day (Don), Scott M. Kramer (April), Mark A. Parrish (Oylessa), and Jennifer E. McCormick (Hank); dear brother of Douglas Kramer (Joan) and the late Joan Lewis; also survived by 22 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Visitation 9:00-11:00 AM Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at Paoli Presbyterian Church, 225 S. Valley Rd, Paoli, PA 19301 followed by his Funeral Service at 11:00 AM. Interment Great Valley Presbyterian Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Paoli Presbyterian Missions at the address listed above.
