Daniel McElwee

Daniel J. “Dan” McElwee, age 98, of Media, PA, formerly of Drexel Hill, PA, passed away on March 11, 2020.   Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Thomas A. and Margaret T. McElwee (nee Donovan).

Dan was a graduate of St. Thomas More High School in Philadelphia.   He served in the United States Navy as a Yeoman First Class during World War II.   Dan was employed as a Postal Clerk in Drexel Hill, PA.

Dan was predeceased by his beloved wife, Eilleen McElwee (nee Sweeney) and his son, Joseph McElwee.  He is survived by his loving children Mary Gallagher, Eilleen Lauersen (Fred), Daniel J. McElwee, Jr. and Kathleen M. McAnally (Kevin).  Also survived by his 8 grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing Saturday, March 14, 2020 9:00-10:00 AM at St. Mary Magdalen Church, 2400 N. Providence Road, Media, PA and to his Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM.  Interment SS Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA.
