Daniel J. Stickney, Jr.

Daniel J. Stickney Jr. passed away January 10, 2024. Daniel was the beloved son of Gail Ann (nee Browne) Stickney and the late Daniel J. Stickney, Sr.

Daniel is survived by his loving wife Kara A. Stickney; dear sons Daniel Joseph Stickney III and Shane Patrick Stickney; siblings, Kay (Thomas) Gallery, Joy (Christopher) McDonald, James (Lena) Stickney, Christine (Brian) Quinn, and Scott (Alison) Stickney.  He was predeceased by his precious children, twins, Catherine Faith Stickney and Colin Patrick Stickney.

Dan was a police officer for over 25 years; the last 15 with the Rising Sun Police Department. The Rising Sun community became his second home.

Dan judged no one. He treated everyone with respect and compassion.

Dan loved cars – the faster, the louder, the better.  He enjoyed working on cars, especially hot rods! He enjoyed his backyard, grilling, and using his smoker to feed anyone and everyone. He took a moment here and there to enjoy a cigarette and his Jameson and ginger.

Dan loved his family more than anything in this world.  He liked to be of service; to his family, his friends, his community, and to his Lord.  The world revolved around his two boys.  He was so proud and would tell anyone who would listen about them. You would always find Dan at all his boys’ sports games, cheering them on while sharing stories of all the crazy things his younger son does.

Through all of the hardships and sadness he endured, his faith never wavered. Dan will be deeply missed but will be reunited with his son and daughter of whom he didn’t get to spend enough time with on earth.

Relatives and friends are invited to Dan’s viewing Friday, January 19^th from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at The Donohue Funeral Home, 8401 West Chester Pike, Upper Darby, PA. His funeral mass will take place on Saturday, January 20th at 11:30 AM at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, 2130 Franklin Ave, Morton, PA followed by his interment at SS Peter and Paul Cemetery, 1600 Sproul Road, Springfield, PA.
