David was born in Philadelphia and spent 43 years of his life there. He met his future wife Barbara in the school yard of their elementary school. He attended Father Judge High School Class of 1982. David married Barbara in 1989 and they had three beautiful children together. The family moved to Newtown Square in 2006 as David worked for Verizon out of the Malvern garage.
David retired from Verizon in 2022 and began working for himself as a handyman. He would handle any type of job his customers needed - from hanging curtains and shelves to painting or full scale renovations.
David was very creative and always worked on personal projects in his spare time. He was a talented artist making many painted wooden projects in his workshop. His projects included anything from birdhouses to wooden figures of the South Park boys. He filled his backyard with Japanese maple trees and displayed his projects all around the yard.
David had a love of dogs from an early age. His childhood dog was named Schultze. He surprised his family with their first family dog Willie a few years after their move. His current best friend was his miniature Australian Shepherd named Sam. David and Sam frequented the Haverford Reserve dog park, which David took pride keeping maintained for the many dogs and friends he made there. His family joked that he was the mayor of the Haverford Reserve dog park. David and Sam would enjoy trips to McDonalds for cheeseburgers after their trips to the park.
David always did things in his own way, always staying true to himself and providing a helping hand to anyone who needed it. David will be sorely missed by his family, friends, and anyone who had the privilege to know him.
David is survived by his loving wife, Barbara A. (nee Gross) Dool; children, Darlene Anne Dool, Kelly Dale Dool, and Kyle Matthew Dool; siblings Dolores Montone, Michael Dool, Debbie Dool, Dennis Dool; brother-in-law, Charles Liddell and many nieces and nephews.
