David C. Gaskin, 83, of Exton, PA passed away on June 12, 2014.
Born in Columbia, SC in 1930, he was the son of Ada Heckle and Thomas Preston Gaskin, both deceased.
David served honorably in the US Marine Corps with over 20 years of active duty. In the Korean War he was a member of the Chosin Few, followed by duty in Okinawa, the Philippines, Viques, and two tours in Vietnam working as an intelligence specialist. Upon discharge, as a Master Gunny Sargent, he entered the Postal Service as an Inspector.
David was the beloved husband of Irini (Ricu) Gaskin; loving father of Teresa L. LoGiudice (Russell); loving grandfather of David & Stephanie and step-grandchildren, Rebecca & Beth and 6 great-grandchildren; dear brother toTotsy MacMahon.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Visitation Tuesday 6:00-8:00 PM at the Donohue Funeral Home, 43 W. Lancaster Avenue, Downingtown, PA 19335, 610-269-3080 and Wednesday 9:00-9:50 AM at St. Sophia Greek Orthodox Church, 900 S. Trooper Road, Jeffersonville, PA 19403 followed by his Funeral Service at 10:00 AM. Interment at Northwood Cemetery, Downingtown, PA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Golden Memory Clinic at Coatesville VA Medical Center, 1400 Blackhorse Hill Road, Coatesville, PA 19320 or to St. Sophia Greek Orthodox Church Building Fund at the address above.
