David Peter Magner

David Peter Magner, 70, of West Chester, PA and formerly of Carteret, NJ passed away on September 22, 2022 surrounded by family.

 

Born in Elizabeth, NJ in 1951, he was the beloved son of the late James and Katherine (née Krutz) Magner.

 

He was the loving husband of Barbara (née Coons) Magner; loving father of Patrick D. Magner (Tricia), Brian J. Magner (Courtney), Kathleen Magner (John) and Erin Magner O’Connor (Sean); dear grandfather of Nolan O’Connor; step-grandfather of Nathan and Lance; dear brother of Robert Magner (Edith) and Katherine Marichak. He was also survived by his best friend, John Sasala.

 

He was predeceased by his siblings; James Magner (Renee) and Michael Magner.

 

David served honorably in the US Navy during the Vietnam War era on the USS McCaffery. He worked as an Instrument Engineer in the Oil Refining industry for over 40 years. After holding multiple positions with Chevron, Gulf and Sunoco he then retired. However, retirement was not for him. He went back to the industry he loved as a consultant with James Controls at the PBF Refinery in Delaware City, Delaware.

 

Riding and restoring his British motorcycles was a true passion of his. His Triumph, Norton Commando, and most recently, his AJS proved to be true labors of love. He was a member in good standing of the International Norton Owners Association (INOA).

 

Relatives and friends are invited to his Visitation 10:00-11:00 AM Thursday September 29, 2022 at St. Maximilian Kolbe Church, 15 E. Pleasant Grove Rd, West Chester, PA followed by his Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM. Interment will be private.
