Dennis L. Hunsecker, 76, of Glen Mills, PA, passed away November 24, 2023.
Born April 26, 1947 in Carlisle, PA, he was a son of the late Richard and Helen (nee Matthews) “GG” Hunsecker.
Dennis went to Big Spring High School in Newville, PA, and then attended Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA, where he met his wife Patty, and graduated with a BS in Commerce and Engineering. He later received an MBA degree from West Chester University. He worked for UPS for a long time, working his way up from a package handler while running our landscaping business, DL Hunsecker & Sons, to a Manager of Enterprise Accounts (including the Phillies) at UPS.
Dennis was a man of faith. He loved music and played trumpet and sang in choirs as a young man. He even tried his hand at guitar. Dennis was an avid film photographer. He was an aviation enthusiast, like his parents, getting his private pilot’s license from an instructor who flew for the US Men’s Aerobatic Team; he rode motorcycles; and he loved cars and working with his hands. He was always building something. He loved to run as a younger man, racing in 5Ks and 10-milers. Dennis loved the beach all his life, boating and water-skiing, and spending time with his family in Fenwick Island, DE and later Sea Isle City, NJ, where he and his wife Patty achieved a dream of owning a beach house. He was active locally in the Lions Club and served on the Historical Commission for Thornbury Township, Delaware County, PA.
Dennis was the beloved husband of Patricia Ann (nee Powell) Hunsecker; loving father of Matthew Warren Hunsecker, Andrew Lee (Jordan) Hunsecker, and Samantha Ann (Philip) Koehler; caring grandfather of Stasha Hunsecker; Maxton, Dean, and Tessa Hunsecker; and Penelope and Carson Koehler; brother of Donna Groh; and uncle of Kevin and Erin Groh.
