Dharamcharge Matai who is known as Basil Matai, born on September 28, 1949 in Lusignan, East Coast Guyana, died on Thursday, August 19, 2021. At the time of death he was 71 years.
He served in the ministry as Pastor and Co Pastor for about 45 years. He was a singer, guitarist, preacher of the word and compassionate shepherd. He was also a painter by occupation.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Mattai, his son Timothy Anthony Mattai and his daughter, Christina Matai. Also survived by his brothers, Raghoo Mattai and Bharat Mattai, and his sisters, Shamdai Mattai, Leila Samsundarrh, and Sheila Mattai.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit the family on Thursday, August 26, 2021 from 6:00-9:00 PM at The Donohue Funeral Home, 8401 West Chester Pike (cor.
