Dionisia R. "Neecie" Solomon

Dionisia R. “Neecie” Solomon (nee Griffin), age 73, of Philadelphia, PA, passed away on October 9, 2022.   Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Mildred Griffin (nee Lee).

Neecie was a graduate of West Catholic Girls High School in Philadelphia, PA. 

Neecie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister.     She had a great sense of humor and storyteller and had a beautiful soul.   She loved shopping at the Christmas Tree Shop in Wilmington, DE, Walmart and Fashion Bug.   She enjoyed dining at the Outback in Springfield, PA. 

Neecie enjoyed reading romance novels, watching old movies, especially The Ten Commandments and the King and I.  She loved vacations and visiting tropical beaches in Bermuda. 

Neecie loved decorating, collecting clowns and baking, especially sugar rolled and chocolate chip cookies.   She loved listening to music, especially Barbra Streisand, Celine Dion, Andrea Boccelli and “Everybody Wants to Rule the World” by Tears for Fears.   She was a Breast Cancer survivor.

Neecie was the beloved wife of George L. Solomon, Sr.   Loving mother of Dia Solomon, Lance Solomon (Brittany) and the late George L. Solomon, Jr.  Dear grandmother of Parrish, Cydnie, Kyler, Kysen, Kydon, Mason, Dane, Reina and great-grandmother of Bryce.  Sister of Imelda Nippin, Immaculata Griffin, Fernando Griffin (Sharon), Emmanuel Griffin, Mario Griffin, Maleeah Casey (John) and the late Sr. Frederica Griffin. 

Relatives and friends are invited to visit the family Saturday, October 22, 2022 1:00-2:00 PM at The Donohue Funeral Home, 8401 West Chester Pike (Cor. Lynn Blvd.), Upper Darby, PA (610) 449-0300 and to her Funeral Service at 2:00 PM.  Interment will be private.
