Dolores H. Bauernschmidt

Dolores H. Bauernschmidt (née Herninko), 86, of West Chester, PA passed away peacefully on November 6, 2023.

Born in 1937 in Olyphant, PA, she was the daughter of the late John G. and Mary V. (née Kubasko) Herninko.

She was the beloved wife of the late William A. Bauernschmidt; loving mother of Jeffrey W. Bauernschmidt (Linda) and Kimberly Gallagher (Joseph); devoted grandmother of Jessica McLaughlin (Kieran), Laura Bauernschmidt, Joseph Gallagher (Shannon), Jason Gallagher (Alexis) and Eric Gallagher; great-grandmother of Emma & Tripp Gallagher; dear sister of Marie Koegel (the late James) and Eugene Herninko (Georgi); sister-in-law of Beverly Taylor (Bill) and Fair Bauernschmidt (the late Robert).

Dolores graduated from Ridley High School and worked for Sun Oil Company for several years before becoming a full-time homemaker. Dolores was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Dolores was an avid tennis player and she kept active into her 80’s playing pickleball. She enjoyed socializing and staying active in the Hershey’s Mill Community. Dolores was also a passionate sports fan and enjoyed following all the Philadelphia sports teams. Dolores loved time with her family and was always happy to have visitors. Dolores spent many wonderful years with her beloved husband boating on the Chesapeake.

Relatives and friends are invited to her Visitation 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM Saturday, December 2, 2023 at the Donohue Funeral Home, 1627 West Chester Pike, West Chester, PA 19382, with prayers taking place at 11:00 AM. Interment Private.
