Dolores Marchesani Benner

Dolores Grace Marchesani age 84 of Broomall, PA formerly of Lansdowne, PA passed away peacefully on April 28, 2020.  Dolores was born on April 3, 1936 and raised in South Philadelphia to her loving parents, the late Michael Marchesani, Sr. and Mary Renzi Marchesani.

Dolores attended Annunciation, BVM Elementary School and was a proud graduate of John W. Hallahan Catholic Girls High School, Class of 1953. In high school, she was a cheerleader and a member of the bowling team. She was honored that her school’s mascot was Mickey Mouse as permission was given by Walt Disney himself. She was never without Mickey memorabile. She worked as an Intake Officer for The Delaware County Courthouse Domestic Relations Department.  She was a long time parishioner of St. Charles Borromeo Church, Drexel Hill.  She was very faithful in prayer and would pray for all of us. She loved the beach and enjoyed vacationing in Wildwood and Ocean City, NJ.  She was an avid sports fan and loved the Philadelphia Athletics, Eagles and Villanova basketball. She enjoyed the many family gatherings, great Italian food and Mummer’s Day parades. She was very patriotic always displaying something red, white and blue being a shirt , flags or her flag pins. Dolores also loved all animals, especially her granddogs.

Dolores’ tremendous love and devotion to her three children was immeasurable.  She always had some sweet sayings like, “Keep praying”, “There’s always hope” and Just trust God and believe.” Her favorite, as we celebrate her life:  “This is the Day the Lord has made, Let us rejoice and be glad it came.”

Dolores was the loving mother of Frederick Benner, Jr. and Michelle McKee (Tom) and the late Donna Braunlinger.  Caring and sweet grandmother to Nicholas Braunlinger, Stephen Braunlinger, Michael McKee, Matthew McKee, Erica Braunlinger, Thomas McKee and Eric
McKee. Dear sister of Grace Marchesani, Michael Marchesani, Jr. the late Rita Olson.  She will be missed dearly by her extended family and friends.
