Dolores A. Edwards (nee Cook), age 84, passed away on September 12, 2017. She was raised in Southwest Philadelphia and attended West Catholic Girls High School. Mrs. Edwards was a longtime resident of Sharon Hill, living there for 42 years before making her home in West Chester for the last 20 years. A devout Catholic, Dolores was a faithful parishioner of Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Sharon Hill. For many years, she enjoyed attending Saturday evening Mass at Holy Spirit with her 2 sisters, Mary Ann and Betty. They would get elegantly dressed for a night filled with shopping and dining at their favorite restaurants. They were known as the "Cookie Sisters", since their maiden name was Cook.
In 1953, Dolores married the love of her life, Robert Donald Edwards. You would have to say opposites attract because he was wild and crazy and Dolores was always elegant and refined, but together they were amazing. They lived in Sharon Hill, PA where they raised their eight children

4 boys and 4 girls. She always said, "She had as many children as God gave her." Her family was the most important thing to her.
Dolores, the matriarch of the Edwards clan and the glue that held the big Irish Catholic family together, also had a second home in Ocean City, NJ. She lived there with her family during the summer for more than fifty years. She loved the fact that the house brought her family and friends close to her and each other every summer.
Dolores' trademark was her beautiful smile and crystal blue eyes. Some days they appeared to be violet which was also her favorite color. Her kindness and gentle demeanor made everyone feel welcomed and at ease. When you were with Dolores, you were on top of the world.
Dolores was the beloved wife of the late Robert Donald Edwards, Sr., loving mother of Mary Ann Peebles (Timothy) of Springfield, PA, Donna M. Crawford (Bill) of Broomall, PA, Robert D.
