Dolores A. Irrera, age 84 of Media, PA, formally of South Philadelphia, passed away July 6, 2024. Born September 15, 1939 in Philadelphia, PA she was the daughter of the late Carlo and Nerina Pietrangelo.
Dolores is remembered for her loving and gracious character. Dolores most enjoyed spending time with her family, friends, neighbors and pet’s, especially her belated dog Elvis. She loved to bake and cook for others, and enjoyed children of all ages. She was known for her specialty treat, pizzelles and her pound cake, and in her neighborhood there were times children would knock on her door looking for a treat! Formally a parishioner of St. Monica Parish in South Philadelphia Dolores was a devout Catholic.
Dolores’ faith and spirituality were very important to her. Her most influential connections to faith included St. Rita of Cascia, Padre Pio, St. Jude and the Blessed Mother. She spent time visiting both St. Rita’s National Shrine and the Shrine of Padre Pio. Dolores truly blossomed following her move to Granite Farms Estates. This is where she was known as a good friend and companion to all she met, and where she continued her reputation for delicious baked goods. Dolores enjoyed day trips to Atlantic City, the Jersey Shore town of Wildwood NJ, enjoying the ocean view, and was an avid fan of the Phillies and QVC Shopping Network.
Dolores is predeceased by her beloved husband of 44 years Nunzio R. Irrera. The two spent many years together, celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary in Bermuda. Dolores is the adoring mother to Cynthia A. Mauriello (Sam) and Nunzio B. Irrera (Cindy). She is survived by her grandchildren Christine, Michael and Andrea and great-grandchildren Autumn, Silas and Alfie. She is also survived by her brother Frank Pietrangelo (Adele) and Tina Brigandi (Richard).
