Dominic J. "Sonny" Aurillo, 79 of Glen Mills, PA passed away peacefully with his family at his side on October 15, 2014 at Neighborhood Hospice.



Born in Lansdowne, PA Dominic was the son of the late Florence (Facciolo) and Felix Aurillo.



He was predeceased by his wife of 52 years, Dorothy E. (Simpson) Aurillo.



Sonny was the loving father of David W. Aurillo (Lauren), Gary J. Aurillo (Lisa) and Kimberly G. Phelps; loving grandfather "Poppy" of Erica, Ashleigh, Olivia, Gary, Jr., Annelise, Austin, Nick, Ally and Ryan; dear brother of Rita Urban and Barbara Crawford (George); dear companion of Nancy Belcher, who helped take care of him so wonderfully until his death.



He was a 1953 graduate of and a standout football player for Upper Darby High School, who was just recently inducted into the 1st Upper Darby Football Hall of Fame. He played on the only undefeated and untied team in 1952. He was all-Delco and MVP of the 1952 team.



Sonny enjoyed deer hunting, his trips to Ft. Myers, Florida for over 20 years and casino trips to Atlantic City and Las Vegas.



He was owner and operator of Suburban Materials in Glenolden for 50 years alongside his friend and partner, Armen Inzillo. Sonny could be found on the front-loader most days. Suburban was not only his job but his hobby and where he played Pinochle with friends and customers.



Sonny was a larger than life man with a larger than life personality. He was a good and thoughtful man who will be greatly missed by all who knew him.



Relatives and friends are invited to his Visitation 5:00-7:00 p.m. Sunday Eve, October 19, 2014 and 11:00 a.m.

12:00 p.m. Monday, October 20, 2014, followed by his Funeral Service at 12:00 p.m. at the Donohue Funeral Home, 1627 West Chester Pike, West Chester, PA 19382, 610-431-9000. Interment will be at Philadelphia Memorial Park, Frazer, PA.



In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to Neighborhood Hospice, 795 E. Marshall St, Suite 204, West Chester, PA 19380.
