Donald Belden, Jr.

Donald Llewellyn “Don” Belden, Jr., age 85, of Newtown Square, PA, formerly of Upper Darby, PA, passed away on August 22, 2019. Born on August 1, 1934 in Durham, NC, he was the son of the late Donald L., Sr. and Marguerite (nee Robinson) Belden.

Don graduated Upper Darby High School, Class of 1953 and worked for 33 years as a manager with AT&T retiring in 1987.

Don became a Mason in May of 1990 and rose to the Senior Warden position.  He was also active at the Christ Presbyterian Church in Drexel Hill until its closing in 2013.

Don was the beloved husband of Christina “Tina” (nee Steele) Belden; the loving father of Deborah Belden and Dawn Belden; the devoted step-father of Sharon Cartmell, Samantha Cartmell, Jerry Cartmell and S. Richard Cartmell; and the dear grandfather of Seth, Tiffany, Dominick, Timothy, Abigail, Kayla, Natalie, April, Chase, Ava and Steele.  He is also survived by his sister, Marjean Kline.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family on Saturday, August 31, 2019 at 9:00 – 10:00 AM at The Donohue Funeral Home, 3300 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA 19073, 610-353-6300, followed by his Memorial Service at 10:00 AM.  Interment Arlington Cemetery, Drexel Hill, PA.
