Donald Hulmes

Donald R. Hulmes, 89, of Macungie, PA, passed away peacefully in his sleep on December 16th, 2020, in Lehigh Valley Hospice in Allentown.

Don was born in Philadelphia, PA, to Anne E. and Harry Hulmes on August 31, 1931. A graduate of Abington High School, he earned a degree in Fine Arts from the Philadelphia College of Art in 1954 and served honorably in the U.S. Army from 1954 to 1956.

A gifted illustrator, his career included positions as communications director/illustrator for the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia, First Pennsylvania Bank, Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, and Lockheed Martin. He loved sports and was a diehard fan of the Phillies, Eagles, and NY Giants. He was a member of the American Legion and the Welsh Society of Philadelphia.

Donald was the beloved husband of the late Winifred (“Winnie”) Leatherman and is survived by his brother Jay R. Hulmes of West Chester, PA.

Funeral Services will be private.
