Donald B. Young, age 84, a 52 year resident of Springfield, PA, passed away on January 14, 2017. Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Benjamin F. and Elizabeth W. Young (nee Miles).
Donald served in the United States Coast Guard during the Korean War era. He was employed for almost 40 years with AT&T, Bell Atlantic and Lucent Technologies as a Systems Technician. He retired in 1991. After retirement, Donald became employed with the Springfield School District as a Bus Aide for 16 years working with disabled children. He took great pride in working with these children.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Alberta M. Young (nee Walter), his children Susan B. Ochlak (Robert) and the late Donald B. Young, Jr., his grandchildren, Alyssa, Robert, Jr. and Aubrey, his siblings Jack Young, Barbara Poltrick, Frances Flemming and Milton Young and his nephew Kenneth Flemming.
