Donn Zang, Sr.

Donn Richard Zang, Sr., 84, of West Chester, PA, passed away on December 13, 2018.
Born in Lewisburg, PA in 1933, he was the son of the late Jacob W. and Ruth (nee Hertzler) Zang.
Donn graduated from West Chester Joint Senior High School in 1951. He served in the Air Force as a mechanic working on airplanes throughout Europe while stationed in Germany. He then graduated from PMC in 1961 with his BS in Electrical Engineering. He and Louella raised their six children in Parkside. He coached youth league football and served on Parkside borough council. He opened a garage to teach his sons auto mechanics. He was the unofficial historian of Glen Mills and the McGuirk family. His family never questioned his memory of dates and events because his memory was always accurate. He was devoted to his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and always had their best interests at heart.
Donn was the beloved husband of Mary Louella (nee McGuirk) Zang; loving father of Cheryl Zang, Barbara Green (John), Donn Zang, Jr. (Janice), Scot (Kathy), Mary Gillen (Jack), and Gary (Jen); caring grandfather of Keith, Corey, Kristan (Casey), Scot, Samantha, Matthew, Sara, JJ, Brendan, Meaghan; dear great-grandfather of Olivia, Molly, and Madison; predeceased by his siblings, Ruth, Doris, Marian, Bill, and Bob.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Visitation 10 AM-12 Noon Saturday, December 29, 2018 at The Donohue Funeral Home, 1627 West Chester Pike, West Chester, PA 19382, 610-449-0300, followed by his Funeral Service at 12 Noon. Interment private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Ronald McDonald House, 3925 Chestnut Street, Philadelphia, PA 19104, would be appreciated.
