Dora Richter

January 15, 1928 — June 28, 2015

Dora M. Richter, 87, passed away peacefully on June 28 surrounded by her family at the home of her son and daughter-in-law in Wayne. Dora grew up in East Chicago, Indiana, and was the youngest of five daughters of the late James and Ethel Johnston, who were Scottish immigrants.

She was the devoted wife of her late husband, Donald Richter, of Havertown, for almost 60 years and lived in Havertown for almost 55 years until her husband's death. She was the beloved mother of her son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Colleen Richter, of Wayne, and the cherished grandmother of her three grandsons, Stephen, Ryan and Tommy Richter, each of Wayne.

Dora loved to paint, bowl, play the piano, listen to Frank Sinatra music, work on puzzles and watch her son and grandsons play baseball. She worked at Beloit Hospital in Wisconsin and at Bryn Mawr Hospital and was active in numerous charities, including the Women's Auxiliary of Lankenau Hospital and Meals on Wheels. She loved animals, particularly cats. She was extremely proud of her Scottish ancestry.

Dora was predeceased by her sisters Margaret, Dorothy, Lillian and Jean, in addition to her parents and husband.
