Dorothy Gabkee

Dorothy M. Gabkee (nee King), age 83, of West Chester, PA, passed away on November 11, 2016 at home of natural causes. Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late William and Marie King (nee Carroll).
Dorothy was a graduate of Upper Darby High School class of '51. She had several secretarial jobs over the years, the one that she was most proud of was her years employed as a clerical staff person at Embreeville State Police Barracks where she retired from in 1992. She loved flowers, cruising, taking trips to Florida and had a love for her pet Chihuahuas. She enjoyed listening to music, singing and dancing to Elvis and Tom Jones. In recent years the light in her life was her only grandson whom she could not have loved more.
Dorothy was predeceased by her daughter, Diane M. Gabkee and her brother, Daniel Harrold. She is survived by her beloved husband of 61 years, John R. Gabkee, her loving children John R. Gabkee and Nancy L. Morse (Steven), her grandson, Steven J. Morse, Jr., and her brother, William B. King.
