It is with great sadness that the family of Dorothy E. MacIntire (nee Charipar), 96, of Downingtown, PA, formerly of Coatesville, PA announces her passing on February 28, 2019.
Born in Drake, North Dakota in 1922, she was the beloved only child of the late Leo and Mabel (Metcalf) Charipar.
She was the beloved wife of the late Elmer Andrew MacIntire; loving mother of Lynda, Nancy, Dennis, Gail, Roxann and Barbara; devoted grandmother of Scott Varner (Michelle), Laura Helton (Carl), Sandy Tedeschi, Eric Gould (Piper), David Gould (Sue), Evan MacIntire (Tiffany), Sean Paul MacIntire, Robert E. Fallon, Jr. (Brandi), Dennis Fallon, Danielle Reichenbacker (Jay), Matthew Koren, Druann Lyon (Philip), Hailey Garza (Joe), Justin Pascal and Devin Pascal; dear great-grandmother of Joshua, Nicholas, Grace, Jack, Ben, Angel, Joe, Hailey, Natalie, Jasmine, Cole, Connor, Tristan, Cori, Abi, Lizzie, Megan, C.J., Josiah and Brooklyn.
Dorothy was a devoted wife and mother who will be remembered for the loving care she gave to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was a hairdresser for many years, owning her own shop (Dottie's Beauty Shop) in her Coatesville home, in order to stay at home to care for her 6 children.
Her hobbies included china painting, jewelry making, and playing tri-ominos. She volunteered her time at church and non-profit organizations on a regular basis. Her love for the Lord was deep and evident.
Relatives and friends are invited to her Visitation 10:00 - 11:00 AM, followed by her Memorial Service 11:00 AM, Friday, March 15, 2019 at The Donohue Funeral Home, 43 W. Lancaster Ave. Downingtown, PA 19335, 610-269-3080. The Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Neighborhood Hospice,
