Dorothy "Dottie" P. O'Connor (nee Cornett) of Boothwyn, PA, Ocean Pines, MD, and West Chester, PA died peacefully, at the age of 91, surrounded by her family on May 12, 2014.
Born in West Virginia, and raised in Kentucky, she lived in Boothwyn, PA, before moving to Ocean Pines, MD. Dottie was a mother, homemaker, and phenomenal cook and gardener. After raising her family, she returned to work as a financial manager at Gimbels Department Store.
Most recently, Dottie was a member of St. Maximilian Kolbe Church in Westtown, PA. She enjoyed social activities with the ladies of Ocean Pines, playing bridge, searching for seashells on the beach, swimming, and especially working in her immaculate garden and walking her beloved dog, Leo, on the boardwalk.
She is predeceased by her loving husband of 50 years, Michael D. O'Connor, her daughter, Dottie O'Connor, and her son-in-law, P.G. Thomas. She is survived by her children, Colleen Sack (Nelson), Patti O'Connor (Joe Orsatti), Shelly Thomas, Michael O'Connor, and Danny O'Connor (Karen), brother, Jerry Cornett (Suzanne), 19 grandchildren,13 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by her parents, William and Mary Bell Cornett, and brothers, John, Gene, Jim, and Bill Cornett.
She will be most remembered for her love of family and her delightful laughter that warmed the hearts of everyone she knew.
