Gaetan A. Campisi, D.D.S., age 91, of Broomall, PA, passed away peacefully on November 30, 2015 at his home. Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Antonio and Concetta Campisi (nee Capra). He was a graduate of South Philadelphia High School and a 1948 graduate of Temple University.
Dr. Campisi was a dental surgeon with a private practice in Aston, Pennsylvania where he specialized in pediatric dentistry from the mid-1950's to 1998, when he retired. He was also a Professor at the University of Pennsylvania Dental School for 31 years where he taught in the dental clinic which provided dental care for those in need, particularly children. Upon his retirement from dentistry, he began to work part time in the Falvey Memorial Library at Villanova University. He retired from that position in 2005. Dr. Campisi enjoyed spending time with his family, gardening and vacationing in the summer in Brigantine, NJ.
He was the beloved husband of the late Marie A. Campisi (nee Magero) and dear father of Desiree (Robert), Anthony (Raymond) and Andrea (Alex).
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing Thursday evening, December 3, 2015 from 7:00-9:00 PM and Friday, December 4, 2015 from 11:30 AM-12:30 PM at the Donohue Funeral Home, 3300 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA, and to his Funeral Mass at 1:00 PM at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 220 Lawrence Road, Broomall, PA. Interment will occur at S.S. Peter and Paul Cemetery, in the Garden Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Dr. Campisi's memory may be made to Penn Dental Medicine, Dept. of Pediatric Dentistry, Room F-31, 240 S. 40th Street, Philadelphia, PA 19104. Contributions will help families in need with dental care.
