Earl Martin Dunlap, Sr., 89, of Caln, PA, went home to be with his Lord August 17, 2019.
He was born in Caln, PA on February 6, 1930 to Lawrence M. Dunlap and Marian McComsey Dunlap. He was a graduate of Scott Sr. High School, Class of 1950. He served four years in the U.S. Navy as a navigator aboard the DDS Corey during the Korean War. A pattern maker by trade, he worked for Beloit Eastern in Downingtown and retired from Fuller Company, Manheim, PA.
Earl’s woodworking skills extended to his hobby of making Civil War and Revolutionary replica canons for family and friends. He especially enjoyed making wooden gifts for the holidays. He enjoyed traveling throughout the U.S. and spending summers at Cape May, NJ.
He is survived by his wife, Hazel Fisher Dunlap, with whom he celebrated 63 years of marriage; four children: Lorie E. Dunlap of Caln, Earl M. Dunlap, Jr. (Donna) of Wagontown, Kathie Dunlap Heckert (Brian) of Thorndale, and Lawrence J. Dunlap, Sr. (Susan) of Wagontown. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren: Earl M. Dunlap, III, Zachary Arthur Dunlap, Joshua Lee Dunlap, Heather Sue Kimble (Jason), Lawrence J. Dunlap, Jr., Michael Keith Heckert, Matthew Brian Heckert, and Rachall Elizabeth Heckert; 2 great-grandchildren: Elias Kimble and Zion Kimble; his sister, Romaine R. Dunlap of Caln; and his brother, Roland A. Dunlap of Dade City, FL. He was predeceased by his great-granddaughter Hannah Kimble.
Relatives and Friends are invited to his Viewing from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM, Wednesday, August 21, 2019 at The Donohue Funeral Home, 43 W. Lancaster Ave., Downingtown, PA 19335, 610-269-3080, followed by his Funeral Service at 10:00 AM. Interment Fairview Cemetery, Coatesville.
