Edith Cipriani

Edith Mae Cipriani (nee Reid), 88, of Glen Mills, PA, formerly of Drexel Hill, PA, passed away peacefully on February 1, 2022.

Born in Philadelphia, PA in 1933, she was the daughter of the late Florence (nee Jones) and Lee Derrickson. Edith had a strong faith in God and her church. She was very involved in the community as both the President of the Bonner High School Mothers Club and St. Charles CYO. She was a Republican committeewoman for 13 years in Drexel Hill, PA. Edith was a hardworking woman and through the years, she worked for Studio Girl Cosmetics and Emmons Jewelry. She retired in 1997 from the Upper Darby Police Department after 20 years as an Administrator in the records room. Edith really enjoyed playing Scrabble and cards around the dining room table at her Jersey shore home where games were played with much laughter and stories told. She was a strong and giving woman. As the matriarch of her family, Edith was the glue that bonded us together. She loved to spend time with her family and go to her grandchildren’s sporting events.

Edith was the beloved wife of Francis J. Cipriani, Sr.; loving mother of Frank J. Cipriani, Jr. (Cathy) and Lee-Ann McHugh (Richard); caring grandmother of Patrick, Chrissy, Kate, Thomas, Frank, Matthew, Kelley, and Mark; also survived by 11 loving great-grandchildren; predeceased by her sister, June Hamblin, and her loving brother, Fred Reid.

Relatives and friends are invited to her Visitation 9:30-10:15 AM Saturday, February 12, 2022 at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 430 Valleybrook Road, Glen Mills, PA 19342, followed by her Funeral Mass 10:30 AM. Interment SS Peter & Paul Cemetery.
