Eduvigis “Mary” J. Jordan passed away on Sunday, July 24th, 2022, in her home at the age of 89 surrounded by her family and loved ones. She fought a hard six-year battle with breast cancer and suffered from a mild stroke in her later days, which God then called her Home.
Eduvigis was born on December 29th, 1932, in Sorsogon City, Philippines to Basilisa Jamoso and Zosimo Jordan Sr. In the Philippines, she managed a small catering business for many years while caring for her family.
Later, in 1992 she came to the United States to live with her youngest daughter, Carmelita and son-in-law John Bautista, Jr. in Morton, PA, where she spent her time helping raise their three daughters as well as her two great grandsons Vinnie and Christian.
Eduvigis was known for her infectious smile and laugh. She loved to spend her time cooking for her family and friends, dance endlessly, sew, garden, and then during her downtime watch the Filipino Channel. She was a parishioner at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Morton, PA and would attend mass daily. As a lifelong devout Catholic, her strong faith to God and Mother Mary was evident in her character, compassion and kindness towards all.
At the late age of 85, Eduvigis became a US Citizen and proud to finally say she was an American.
She spent her life as a homemaker, was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother to 16 great grandchildren whom she all dearly loved. She made sure to instill in her family - the values of family, caring for others, and to always have faith in God.
Eduvigis is predeceased by both her parents, her brothers Elino, Ruben and Zosimo Jr., her sister Minerva and is survived by her sisters Fe and Angelina and brothers Jose and Remy.
She is also survived by her children, Efren (Alice), Ederlinda, Romeo (Eva Rose), Carmelita (John Jr.); her grandchildren Elmer, Elleney (Harley), Alfren, Jam, Vynee, Joan Jamille (the late Bryan), Maria Janelle (Greg), Justina, and her sixteen great grandchildren. She will also be missed by her two great granddogs Wesson and Ranger.
