EDWARD "ED" S. CHAR, 76, of West Chester, PA passed away on September 23, 2018, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in 1942, in Philadelphia, PA, Ed was the beloved son of the late Edward C. and Anna (Jordan) Char.
He was a 1960 graduate of West Catholic High School for Boys and a 1965 graduate of Drexel University. Ed worked for Boeing, from 1966 until his retirement in 2003, as an Industrial Engineer in the Helicopter Division.
Ed was a baseball and basketball coach at Good Shepherd and was an usher at SS Simon & Jude Church. He loved traveling and enjoyed watching old movies.
He was the beloved husband for 49 years of Mary Ann (Montgomery) Char; loving father of Christine Char (Michael Kornacki), Edward, Jr. (Christine) and Patricia Burke (Kevin); devoted grandfather of Lexi, Vincent, Brandon, Clare, Lucy, Hannah and Eddie; and dear brother of Jack Char (Ann).
Also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, his dogs, Max, Keltie, Billie and his cat, Rocky.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Viewing 7:00-9:00 PM Thursday Eve and 9:30-10:30 AM Friday at The Donohue Funeral Home, 1627 West Chester Pike, West Chester, PA, 610-431-9000 followed by his Funeral Mass 11:00 AM at SS Simon & Jude Church, 8 Cavanaugh Ct., West Chester, PA 19382. Interment SS Peter & Paul Cemetery.
