On this day, December 28, 2023, The Love of my life, Edward F. Melaragni, passed from this earth.
After 29 years together, we were married in 2009, making our life together a total of 42 years. Upon finding a Celtic wedding blessing, I decided to recite it to him as part of our wedding vows. I could think of no better tribute of my love for him than to include it here as my farewell and declaration of my undying love.
Arrivederci, Eduardo. Te amo.
You are the star of each night,
You are the brightness of every morning,
You are the kernel of my heart,
You are the face of my sun,
You are the harp of my music.
I vow
It shall be only your name I cry out in the night
And into your eyes shall I smile each morning;
I shall be a shield for your back as you are for mine;
Nor shall a grievous word be spoken about us,
For our marriage is sacred between us
And no stranger shall hear my grievance.
Above all, I vow
To cherish and honor you
Through this life and into the next.
