Edward Nelson, Jr.

Edward A. Nelson, Jr., of West Chester, PA, formerly of Upper Darby, PA, passed away on April 4, 2020.

Born in Philadelphia, PA in 1935, he was the son of the late Edward A., Sr. and Margaret (nee Barton) Nelson. Ed proudly served in the US Marine Corps. He retired from DuPont Industries at the Marshall Lab Greys Ferry location where he was an employee for over 40 years. "Big Ed" always greeted everyone with a large smile and a firm hand shake. He never missed a family gathering and always was the life of the party. Ed enjoyed sharing fond memories of "the old neighborhood".

Ed was the beloved husband of his first wife, the late Eileen (nee McCullough) Nelson, and his second wife, the late Rosellen (nee McDevitt) Nelson; loving father of Margaret DeSanctis (Vincent), Patricia Carr, Debbie Falo (Robert), Edward Nelson, III (Rose), Rosellen Vitale (Michael), and Charles Berry (Christine); proud grandfather of 19 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, dear brother of Lois Donavan and the late Ginger Murphy.

Services are private. A Celebration of Life will be scheduled at a later date.
