Edward F. Pecko, 88, of West Chester, PA and formerly of Drexel Hill, PA passed away on September 19, 2015, surrounded by his family.
Born in Philadelphia, PA in 1926, Edward was the son of the late Joseph and Amelia (Smutnick) Pecko.
He served honorably in the US Navy during World War II in the Pacific Theatre. He served as a Machinist Mate on the USS Detroit and was in Tokyo Bay when the Peace Treaty was signed.
Edward spent many years working in the Tool & Dye industry.
He loved gardening, was an avid soccer enthusiast who also enjoyed playing and he was a true family man.
Edward was the beloved husband for 65 years of Josephine (nee Petko) Pecko; loving father of Dianna P. Trainor (James) of East Fallowfield and Janice A. Berry (Stephen) of Southborough, MA; loving grandfather of Michael Trainor (Rachel), Joseph Trainor (Pam), Christopher Trainor (Katie), Matthew Berry, Kimberley Berry and 6 great-grandchildren; dear brother of Emil Pecko and Elizabeth McCann. He was predeceased by siblings, Eleanor Duffy, Marie Allen and Florence Joyce.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Viewing 9:00-10:20 AM Friday, September 25, 2015 and to his Funeral Mass 10:30 AM at SS Simon & Jude Church, 8 Cavanaugh Ct, West Chester, PA. Interment will be at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
