Elaine M. Boorman

Elaine M. Boorman, age 84, of Newtown Square, PA, formerly of Sarasota, FL, passed away peacefully on October 14, 2024. Born in Moosic (Greenwood), PA, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Wanda (née Sokolowski) Gaura. She was the devoted wife of John F. Boorman (Jack) who preceded her death in 2003.

Elaine was a graduate of Moosic High School. She furthered her education attending Delaware County Community College and the University of Scranton. Elaine's career was anchored in the banking industry, where she was employed with the Northeastern Bank of Pennsylvania. Elaine attended St. Anastasia Church. Additionally, she was a member of Overbrook Golf Club in Villanova, PA, and the Junior Century Club of Scranton. Notably, she served as past President of the Villagers of Newtown Square.

In addition to her husband, Jack, Elaine is predeceased by her devoted stepson Brian Boorman (Debra) as well as her brothers Henry Gaura and Leonard Gaura. She is survived by her faithful step-daughter, Tara Broczkowski (Dan) and her dear daughter-in-law Debra Boorman. She will be greatly missed by her grandchildren, Jeffrey Boorman (Rachel), Kevin Boorman (Shannon), Matthew Boorman, Jenna DeVivo, and David Broczkowski, as well as her newborn great granddaughter, Jade Boorman.

Elaine will be remembered fondly for her love of golf, entertaining stories of her many travels, and her eloquent social graces. She had many dear friends and family with whom she shared delightful celebrations and outings.

Family and friends are invited to gather to honor Elaine’s memory at her Viewing on Monday, October 28th, 2024, 9:30 to 10:30 AM at The Donohue Funeral Home, 3300 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA 19073, 610-353-6300, followed by her Funeral Service at 10:30 AM. Interment will commence immediately thereafter at SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Elaine’s memory would be appreciated by the American Cancer Society.
