Elaine Holden

Elaine Carol Holden, 78, died peacefully at Riddle Memorial Hospital in Media, PA on February 13, 2021.  She was born in Roxborough, PA on December 1, 1947 as the daughter of deceased Howard and Eleanor (Batzle) Holden.  She graduated from Plymouth Whitemarsh High School in 1960 and received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Washington College in 1964 and her Master of Arts from Millersville  College in 1974.

She was a natural born teacher and taught both English & French at Steward Junior High School in Norristown, PA. She moved to Betterton, MD in 1971 and taught at Kent County High School until retiring in 2005. She was an active member of Christ Methodist Church of Chestertown, MD and the Kent County Retired Teachers Association. In 2015 she moved to White Horse Village in Newtown Square, PA.

She is survived by her brother Howard  Holden of Wayne, PA as well as her nephew Brian Holden of Holly Springs, NC and niece Stefanie Kane of Wayne, PA.  She was a pianist, enjoyed reading, chaperoned  her students to France many times, and loved singing in choirs throughout her life.
