Eleanor Gibson

April 18, 1927 — September 22, 2014

Eleanor C. Gibson (nee McCloskey), 87, of Glen Mills, PA and formerly of West Chester passed away on September 22, 2014.



Born in Glenolden, PA in 1927, she was the daughter of the late Eleanor Alexander Morrow McCloskey and the late Harry A. McCloskey.



Eleanor worked as an LPN at Fair Acres Geriatric Center in Lima, PA.



She was predeceased by her first husband Robert J. Reilly, her granddaughter, Erin Elizabeth Grettner and one sister, Patricia McCloskey.



Eleanor was the wife of the late Robert Gibson; loving mother of Eileen A. Wrzesniewski (the late Robert) of Brookhaven, Susan T. Huber (John) of West Bradford, Kathleen M. Kleinert (the late Bernard) of Glenolden and Jennifer C. Grettner (William) of Wenonah, NJ; loving Mom-Mom of 6 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.



Eleanor loved cooking, gardening and she excelled at every type of craft. She watched every Phillies game, always cheering them on. By her actions, she taught her four daughters how to be ladies, strong women and loving wives and mothers.



Relatives and friends are invited to her Visitation 7:00-9:00 p.m. Friday Eve and 9:00-10:00 a.m. Saturday at the Donohue Funeral Home, 1627 West Chester Pike, West Chester, PA 19382, 610-431-9000 and to her Funeral Mass 10:30 a.m. Saturday at SS Simon & Jude Church, 8 Cavanaugh Ct, West Chester, PA. Interment SS Peter & Paul Cemetery.



In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Maris Grove Resident Care Fund, 200 Maris Grove Way, Glen Mills, PA 19342.
