Eleonore H. Hymel (nee Haydel), age 97, of Newtown Square, PA, formerly of Drexel Hill, PA, passed away on May 23, 2015.
Born in Vacherie, LA in 1917, Eleonore was the daughter of the late Stephen L. and Angele (nee Simon) Haydel. She was a resident of Drexel Hill for 58 years and lived at White Horse Village, Newtown Square, PA for two years. Eleonore began her career as a beautician owning a salon. She lived a wonderful life as a true homemaker and mother. She was a member St. Bernadette Catholic Church and Women's Club.
She was the beloved wife of the late Lee Joseph Hymel; loving mother of Kay Ann Reilly (the late Joseph) of Ocean City, NJ, Gary S. Hymel (Loretta) of Seal Beach, CA, Patricia M. Gallagher (the late William) of Davenport, IA, Mary Ellen Kenney (Lawrence) of Rehoboth Beach, DE and the late Lee J. Hymel, Jr.; loving grandmother of 17 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. Eleonore was also pre-deceased by her granddaughter Katy Reilly and her great-grandson Christopher Henggeler, as well as her siblings Simon, Stephen and Maurice Haydel and her sister Rosa Rogers.
Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing, Saturday, May 30, 2015 from 9:00 to 10:50 AM at the Church of St. Bernadette, 1035 Turner Avenue, Drexel Hill, PA 19026 followed by her Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM. Interment at Arlington Cemetery, Drexel Hill, PA 19026.
