Elizabeth L. Heiden

Elizabeth Louise Heiden, 89, of West Chester, PA, passed away very peacefully on July 22, 2023.

Born December 27, 1933 in Escanaba, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Evelyn (nee Oslund) Houle. 

Elizabeth was the beloved wife of James S. Heiden; loving mother of Robert Heiden (Cindy), Janie Wermuth (Rob), and J. Spencer Heiden; adoring grandmother of Besty Cervantes (Sean), Annie Wermuth, Jimmy Heiden, and Bobby Heiden; dear sister of Glenn Houle, and loving aunt to many wonderful nieces and nephews.

Elizabeth’s contributions far outweighed what she took from this world.  Blessed with a curious intellect and demanding sense of integrity, she set a high bar not only for herself but for others, doing the right thing even when it was not popular.

She was always looking for different perspectives – something to learn to grow. One of her favorite sayings was “…tell me when I am wrong so I can learn.” With a wonderful mind and a kind heart, you always knew Elizabeth would be in your corner with just the right amount of encouragement or a kick in the pants, whatever was needed for one to succeed – all wrapped in an unwavering belief in you.

In the truest show of respect and love, in lieu of flowers the family asks for any kind deed offered to others~
