Elizabeth C. "Betty" Mason, 89, of Drexel Hill, PA passed away on April 7, 2017.
Born in Philadelphia, PA in 1928, Elizabeth was the daughter of the late Richard L. and Anna (Hoctor) Carmichael.
Elizabeth was the beloved wife of the late Charles E. Mason, Jr.; loving mother of Jeanne M. Mason, Patricia A. Wechsler (Paul), Charles E. Mason III, Elizabeth L. Mason and Scott C. Mason; adoring grandmother of Amy Foran (Tom), Megan Wechsler and Susan Coyne (Joe) and great-grandmother of 7; dear sister of Mary McMenamin, the late Joseph Carmichael and the late William Carmichael.
She was a 1945 graduate of Lansdowne Aldan High School and worked as an Executive secretary for Energy Products, Inc. in Broomall, PA.
Elizabeth was active in the PTA when her children were young and volunteered with Springfield Hospital for many years. For over 40 years, she was a member of both the American Legion and also of the Aronimink Swim Club, where she learned to swim later in life.
She was an avid Phillies and Eagles fan and loved to travel, especially visiting Europe. Elizabeth enjoyed exploring the internet and had many Facebook friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to her Viewing 7:00-9:00 PM Tuesday and 9:00-10:00 AM Wednesday at the Donohue Funeral Home, 8401 West Chester Pike, Upper Darby, PA 19082, 610-449-0300 followed by her Funeral Mass 10:30 AM at St. Andrew the Apostle Church, 3500 School Lane, Drexel Hill, PA. Interment SS Peter & Paul Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to the Richard L. Carmichael American Legion Post 578, 155 Lexington Ave, East Lansdowne, PA 19050.
