Elizabeth D. “Betty” White (nee Dempsey), age 81, of Ardmore, PA, passed away on February 8, 2021.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late of John J. and Marie Dempsey (nee Ford). She spent much of her adult life living in York, PA before retiring to the Philadelphia area in 2009.
She was a 1961 graduate of Immaculata College. After graduating, she began her life-long career in social work. She was an advocate for women’s right and social justice, and spent her career supporting those causes. She was an employee for many years for the County of York in Health and Human Services.
Betty was predeceased by her beloved husband, Andrew J. White.
She is survived by her loving children, Drew White (Anastasia) and Ashton White (Laura) and her grandchildren Colette and Margot. Cherished sister of Eileen Dempsey of Denver, CO and the late Andrew Dempsey. She is also survived by many cousins, relatives and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited her Graveside Service on Saturday, February 27, 2021 at 10:00 AM at SS Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA. Masks are to be worn and social distancing is to be observed.
