Ellen McConney

It's with great sadness that Ellen T. (nee McFadden) McConney, 71, of West Chester, PA, passed away suddenly on December 29, 2020 at her home.

She was the beloved wife of Patrick H. McConney; loving mother of Patrick T. McConney (Melody), Colleen M. Mullen (Shawn), Matthew J. McConney (Kristie); Mom Mom to Maggie, Shawn Jr., Kevin, Tara, Ellyn, Amanda, and Madison; dear sister of John McFadden (Muffie), Sister Jane McFadden, IHM, the late Bishop Joseph McFadden and sister-in-law Carole Arnold (Larry). She is also survived by her many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her many nieces and nephews.

She was born on October 25, 1949 in West Philadelphia to the late Teague and Ellen McFadden.  She attended Our Lady of Lourdes grade school and graduated from West Catholic High School in 1967. Ellen married her husband of 48 years Patrick H. McConney on June 3, 1972. They lived most of their life in their current home in West Chester, PA.

Ellen enjoyed her annual vacation in Sea Isle City, NJ with her family and friends. She loved planning her infamous Beach Survivor Games which celebrated its 20th year this past summer and she could always be seen on the beach as the organizer in her white visor.

In her later years, Pat and Ellen enjoyed traveling across the United States and abroad with their friends. She was always seen with a smile on her face, but mostly enjoyed spending time with her family especially her 7 grandchildren that were held so near to her heart.

Relatives and friends are invited to her Visitation on Monday, January 4, 2021, from 10:00 AM – 12:30 PM at SS. Simon and Jude Church, 8 Cavanaugh Ct, West Chester, PA 19382, followed by her Funeral Mass at 12:30 PM. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Ellen’s memory to Camilla Hall, 100 Maxis Drive, Malvern, PA 19355, would be greatly appreciated.
