Emma McClafferty

Emma M. McClafferty (nee Scherych), age 92, of Springfield, PA, passed away on April 19, 2021.

Born in Pittsburgh, PA, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Elizabeth Ann (nee Walter) Scherych.

Emma was the beloved wife of Paul R. McClafferty; the loving mother of Jeffrey P. McClafferty (Nan) and Jennifer M. Casper (Jamie); the devoted grandmother of Emma and Elizabeth McClafferty and Paulina and Rebecca Casper; the dear aunt of Beth Taylor. She was predeceased by her sister, Elizabeth McCahill.

Emma will be remembered as a true friend, always honest, straightforward and gracious.  She had a commonsense approach for everything and everyone.  Emma was called "Grandmom Em" by many, which was indicative of the central importance of her beloved granddaughters; she showered them always with attention, love and wisdom.  Her time with friends, including bowling, tennis and lunches with the ladies, was a source of great pleasure. Renowned for her generous hospitality, her holidays feasts, traditional Christmas nut rolls, sugar cookies and banana bread were enjoyed by many. She will be greatly missed, and remembered with joy.

Relatives and friends are invited to her Visitation Saturday, April 24, 2021, 12:30 – 1:30 PM at St. Dorothy Church, 4910 Township Line Road, Drexel Hill, PA  19026, followed by her Funeral Mass at 1:30 PM.  Interment SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA.
