Erma Schaffer
June 10, 1942 — January 6, 2019
Erma Schaffer (nee Mongelli), age 76, a lifelong resident of Upper Darby, PA passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on January 6, 2019.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late Archie John and Edith Mongelli (nee Arriviello).
Erma was a 1960 graduate of Archbishop Prendergast High School in Drexel Hill.
She received her Associate Degree from Gwynedd-Mercy.
Family was of utmost importance to Erma.
Her loyalty and dedication to her children and extended family was immeasurable.
She was welcoming to all and always gathered friends and family around her fabulous cooking and famous pizza.
Erma's extended circle included the wonderful friends she accumulated through their antique business.
An antique hobby grew into a 40 year business that Erma and Ken ran side by side for 40 years.
While Ken was the face of the business, everyone knew it was Erma who had the eye for quality buying and a shrewd business sense.
Erma is survived by her beloved husband, Kenneth R. Schaffer, her loving children Kenneth Schaffer, Jr., Gina Flatley (Sean), Jonathon Schaffer, David Schaffer (Sarah) and Daniel Schaffer.
She is also survived by her 11 grandchildren Kevin, Megan, Jacob, Steven, Julia, Andrew, Caralyn, Jillian, Abigail, Kenny, III, and Evan.
She was predeceased by her sister Joan Feliton (Michael).
Relatives and friends are invited to her Funeral Mass Thursday, January 10, 2019 at 10:30 AM at St. Dorothy Church, 4910 Township Line Road,
Drexel Hill, PA.
Interment will be private.
