Eugene Ward

March 7, 1950 — December 1, 2017

Eugene Joseph Ward, Jr., 67, left us peacefully on December 1, 2017 at Taylor Hospice Residence in Ridley Park. Gene was born in Philadelphia and lived in Glenolden and Morton, Pa. He was the son of the late Eugene and Elizabeth McCallum Ward form whom he cared lovingly in their last years. He graduated from Cardinal O'Hara High School and attended Kutztown University.

Gene was a fun-loving person who enriched many family gatherings with his caring personality, story-telling and laughter. He loved art, music, sports, fishing, a good cigar with friends, good food, motorcycles, riding the waves at the beach but most of all he loved people. He had a warm and caring heart, a gentle, sensitive nature, a generous spirit and a special smile. He was always there with a pat on the back and words of encouragement for whoever needed it. He will be missed by all.

Gene is survived by his sister Betty Collinson and her husband Harry, his brother Tom Ward and his wife Nicole. He will be remembered fondly by nephews Chris Collinson and his wife Linda; Matt Collinson and his wife Lisa. He was a special Uncle to Danny, Sean, Ethan, Luke and Grace Collinson, Lauren Ward, Christina and Natalia Azarian. He will be remembered fondly by Uncle Joe and Aunt Barbara Bata, Aunt Betty Telenzak and many cousins. "Geno" will also be missed tremendously by his friends at Widmer's Cigar Lounge where he spent many happy hours enjoying the warm companionship of caring friends and by Michael and Peggy Jordan for their compassion and understanding.

Friends and Family are invited to Gene's Visitation 6-7 PM on December 15th at Knoetgen-Donohue Funeral Home 746 Kedron Ave. Morton, Pa 19070. A Prayer Service and Celebration of Gene's life will follow at 7 PM. Gene asked that donations be made in his name to Shriner's Hospital 3551 N. Broad St. Philadelphia, Pa 19140 or to Taylor Hospice Residence 300 Johnson Ave. Ridley Park, Pa 19078 where he was cared for lovingly in his final days.
